Man and boy, 6, shot in West Is­land

Mon­treal po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing af­ter two peo­ple — a six-year-old boy and a man in his 50s — were shot in a West Is­land home Fri­day night. Ac­cord­ing to spokesper­son Manuel Cou­ture, po­lice re­sponded to sev­eral 911 calls around 7 p.m. con­cern­ing a man in dis­tress in a home near Ste-Marie Rd. and Mon­trose Drive, which is on the bor­der be­tween Bea­cons­field and Kirk­land. When po­lice ar­rived at the house, they found the two vic­tims and man­aged to bring them to a lo­cal hospi­tal. Cou­ture said both were con­scious and talk­ing. The sus­pect, who was briefly bar­ri­caded in the house, was ar­rested around 8 p.m. A heavy po­lice pres­ence was dis­patched to han­dle the sit­u­a­tion.
