Man and boy, 6, shot in West Island
Montreal police are investigating after two people — a six-year-old boy and a man in his 50s — were shot in a West Island home Friday night. According to spokesperson Manuel Couture, police responded to several 911 calls around 7 p.m. concerning a man in distress in a home near Ste-Marie Rd. and Montrose Drive, which is on the border between Beaconsfield and Kirkland. When police arrived at the house, they found the two victims and managed to bring them to a local hospital. Couture said both were conscious and talking. The suspect, who was briefly barricaded in the house, was arrested around 8 p.m. A heavy police presence was dispatched to handle the situation.
