Send in the clowns

All the world loves a clown, and that will be quite ev­i­dent at this year’s edi­tion of the Mon­treal Clown Fes­ti­val, which will pitch its tent at the Main­Line Theatre, 3997 St. Lau­rent Boule­vard, from Septem­ber 13 to 17.

Around 15 pro­fes­sional and emerg­ing artists from the clown world who orig­i­nate from Mon­treal, Toronto, Cal­gary and New Zealand will con­verge upon the Main­Line to en­ter­tain au­di­ences in a se­ries of clown-re­lated shows for all ages, as well as an artist talk, a bal­loon work­shop, a clown ex­hi­bi­tion, and sev­eral free spe­cial events, in­clud­ing an open­ing gala and a grand im­be­cile con­test.

Some of the shows to be fea­tured at the clown fes­ti­val in­clude “Hushabye: A Dooms­day Com­edy” with Siz­zle & Spark;“Time and Joe present … Joe and Tim”;“Joe the Perfect Man”; “Cul de Sac”; and the duo of Juan upon at time & I Heart Boomer.
