Gonzalez Byass Solera 1847 Oloroso Dulce. Jerez, Spain - $20.80

Montreal Times - - Wine -

On the nose, toffee, chocolate with aromas of dried figs, prunes and raisins. In addition, nuances of walnut liqueur ( frangelico) and hazelnut cream. Coffee. Different kinds of woods such as sandalwood to name just one. On the mouth, alright, but actually I feel the balance between sweetness, acidity and herbal savouriness hits a sweet spot. Deep oaky notes again, leathery notes and dark chocolate. In the finale, a certain heat as well, probably because of the many herbs and spices (cloves, soft pepper). Roasted nuts and Espresso finale. 90\100.
