The cel­e­bra­tion of Canada Day on July 1 could be a trip via the kitchen to other re­gions of Canada.

Each area of the coun­try is fa­mous for cer­tain dishes and part of the en­joy­ment of trav­el­ling is to sam­ple some of those items, from cod fish in New­found­land to saska­toon pie in Saskatchewan.

This week’s recipes are adapted from some ideas of­fered by Cana­dian Her­itage, fea­tur­ing cer­tain in­gre­di­ents that might be found in the se­lected ar­eas.
