on Tues­day, Novem­ber 8th at 7:30 p.m. at the Public Li­brary will fea­ture book this month, Betty: The He­len Betty Os­borne Story by David Alexan­der Robert­son. Betty is a graphic novel ren­der­ing the true ac­count of He­len Betty Os­borne, known as Betty to her clos­est friends and fam­ily. Dream­ing of be­com­ing a teacher she left her home to at­tend res­i­den­tial school and high school in a small town in Man­i­toba. On Novem­ber 13, 1971, Betty was ab­ducted and bru­tally mur­dered by four young men. Ini­tially met with si­lence and in­dif­fer­ence, her tragic murder res­onates loudly to­day. The Book Club is open to all in­ter­ested adults and no reg­is­tra­tion is re­quired. Copies are avail­able on a first-come-first-served ba­sis from the Li­brary for any­one wish­ing to take part in the dis­cus­sion. This pro­gram is pre­sented in part­ner­ship with The Saskatchewan Fes­ti­val of Words. Ad­mis­sion is free. Every­one is wel­come.
