It isn’t the non-stick cookware, magical mops and cleaning cloths nor the sweepers that defy all dirt that interest many visitors to the annual production of Canadian Western Agribition. In the days when I romped up and down the aisles of the lifestyles and trade show, it was always the Milk Producers’ booth where I made my first stop. That is where Dairyana, the mascot, handed guests the latest copy of the Milk Calendar, a popular yearly publication of recipes accompanying a calendar of the coming year. After thanking the very pleasant faux bovine and making sure the latest milk, cheese and dairy product recipes were in my Holstein-replica bag, then and only then did I move on to try samples from the chicken and turkey producers, accompanied by recipe cards to try at home. This year’s Milk Calendar is celebrating its 40th anniversary and the cover is adorned with cupcakes and a bottle of milk in celebration of this event. Anyone who missed getting a copy of the calendar at Agribition may obtain one by e-mailing email@example.com or dropping by at 444 McLeod St. in Regina. This week’s recipes come from the 2017 Milk Calendar and Canada’s dairy farmers.
