South Cen­tral Early Child­hood In­ter­ven­tion Pro­gram is a non-profit or­ga­ni­za­tion that pro­vides fam­ily-fo­cused, home-based ser­vices to fam­i­lies with chil­dren, aged birth to school age, who are ex­pe­ri­enc­ing de­vel­op­men­tal de­lay or who are at risk for de­lay. Chil­dren who are in­volved in ECIP are of­ten de­layed in reach­ing ageap­pro­pri­ate de­vel­op­men­tal mile­stones such as walk­ing, talk­ing, eat­ing, ma­neu­ver­ing, play­ing, and in­ter­act­ing with oth­ers or are born with a con­di­tion or di­ag­no­sis that makes it more dif­fi­cult for them to de­velop at rates that are typ­i­cal for a spe­cific age group. ECIP works with the fam­ily to en­hance all ar­eas of the child’s development, in­clud­ing speech and lan­guage, mo­tor skills, cog­ni­tive skills, fine mo­tor skills and oth­ers.
