Plea­sure Craft Op­er­a­tors Course

Over the first week­end in June, Moose Jaw and Swift Cur­rent Sea Cadets met in Moose Jaw to take part in per­sonal plea­sure craft op­er­a­tors course. Five cadets passed the course and now are li­censed to op­er­ate a plea­sure craft (boat). All this was done with no cost to the cadets, yet another great rea­son to join the pro­gram... As another train­ing year comes to a close and the cadets are get­ting ex­cited to at­tend sum­mer train­ing cen­tres across Canada, Cadets from the Moose Jaw Sea cadets are send­ing cadets to HMCS Quadra on Van­cou­ver Is­land for sum­mer train­ing in Gen­eral train­ing, Ba­sic Sea­man­ship, Bo­sun mate (work­ing as part of a ships crew) and a staff cadet, 2 oth­ers are at­tend­ing ba­sic sail in Kingston On­tario,and one head­ing to Cold Lake for ba­sic fit­ness and best of all there is no cost to the fam­i­lies for them to go and they are paid a train­ing bonus while at the train­ing cen­tres, at this time we would like to ex­tend our ap­pre­ci­a­tion for the sup­port the com­mu­nity of Moose jaw has given the Sea Cadets and Navy League.
