Rebuilding Generals drop pair of games
The Moose Jaw Generals dropped a pair of games in Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League action on the weekend, as they try to find ways to create offence.
They lost 5-3 to the Prince Albert Mintos Saturday in Prince Albert and lost 4-1 to the Saskatoon Blazers Sunday afternoon at Mosaic Place. The Generals’ Jake Palmer opened the scoring 4:04 into the first period and the Generals held a 1-0 lead till the end. But the Mintos stormed back with four second period goals and another in the third. Although Brendan Kemp and Evan Sare brought the Generals back to within two, it was too late. Nolan Jones had two assists in the game and Jake Davidson stopped 46 of 51 Prince Albert shots in the Generals’ net. Moose Jaw’s Cal Caragata’s goal with 1:22 on the clock of the second period Sunday brought the Generals to only 2-1 down to the Blazers but the Saskatoon team scored a pair more, including an empty net goal with 23 seconds on the clock. Ethan Hein stopped 32 in the loss.
The Generals will have only one game this week: Sunday in Saskatoon as they battle the Contacts.
