Generals earn tie in Tisdale
Coming back from being down four goals to the Tisdale Trojans, the Moose Jaw Generals earned their first point of November in a 4-4 tie on the road Sunday afternoon. The Generals also lost 4-0 Saturday in Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League action.
Saturday, Ethan Hein stopped 34 of 38 Tisdale shots. Tisdale led 1-0 after the first period and 4-0 after the second. The Generals fired 23 shots on Tisdale’s net. Sunday, Jaxsen Wiebe and Jaxon Georget scored late in the second period to bring the Generals to 4-2 sown. Then as time wound down, the Generals’ Skyler Sangster scored with 2:14 on the clock and then with seven seconds left, Wiebe notched his second of the game. Overtime solved nothing and the game ended 4-4. Jake Davidson stopped 38 shots in the tie.
The Generals play a trio of games this week. They travel to Yorkton Thursday to play the Maulers and then a pair of home games at Mosaic Place on the weekend – Saturday against the Saskatoon Blazers at 1:30 p.m. and Sunday against the Beardy’s Blackhawks at 1:30 p.m.
