Har­vest clos­ing in on com­ple­tion

A three-month har­vest came closer to an end last week when Saskatchewan farmers took 10 per cent off the fields in mere days Ac­cord­ing to the weekly Saskatchewan Agri­cul­ture crop re­port, 92 per cent of the crop was har­vested by Oct. 22.

The south­west is 97 per cent; the south­east and and north­east­ern re­gions are at 95 pr cent.

West-cen­tral and east-cen­tral re­gions are 90 an 89 per cent done while the north­west amaz­ingly moved from 45 per cent to 82 per cent com­ple­tion.

Soy­beans, 73 per cent off, flax and ca­nary seed at 80 per cent off have the most left in the field.

Only one-third of crop land is rated short or very short of mois­ture. Forty-three per cent of hay land and pas­ture falls into that cat­e­gory.
