Woman wanted in re­la­tion to Cal­gary homi­cides found

Po­lice in Cal­gary have an­nounced that they have ar­rested a per­son of in­ter­est in a re­cent quadru­ple homi­cide. Yu Chieh Liao, 24, who also goes by Diana Liao was taken into cus­tody around 7 p.m. Thurs­day night in Toronto. There was a Canada-wide war­rant out for her ar­rest for fraud. Cal­gary po­lice had pre­vi­ously re­leased in­for­ma­tion about Liao, stat­ing that she had ties to Regina and Moose Jaw. Po­lice here in the city have re­ceived nu­mer­ous re­ports of sight­ings. “The woman is be­lieved to have played a sig­nif­i­cant role in the events that led to the deaths of two women and a man who were found dead in Sage Hill, as well as a man who was found dead in a ditch on the western edge of the city,” a state­ment is­sued last week read. The four peo­ple killed were Glyn­nis Fox, 36, Cody Pfeif­fer, 25, and Tif­fany Ear, 39 — who were found in a burnt out ve­hi­cle — along with Hanock Afow­erk, 26, who is thought to be the in­tended tar­get.
