The Moose Jaw Fire Department responded to a call at an industrial plant off the North Service Road at 9:58 a.m. Thursday.

Rushing to the scene where smoke was billowing black, crews found two pieces of machinery on fire, according to Curtis Beler, assistant fire chief for the department. They extinguished the fire before it could spread beyond those two units, taking about two hours on the scene in all.

He estimated damage to be about $60,000 and said the fire was accidentally caused and that no one was injured in the incident.

Police were dispatched to the area, but as there was no threat to public safety or need for traffic control, the Moose Jaw Police Service were not involved.
