that and played pretty de­cent hockey, just no puck luck tonight, other than six min­utes in the sec­ond pe­riod there… it’s not that the guys were work­ing hard, they just couldn’t fin­ish for what­ever rea­son and they seemed to have all the luck, with pucks bounc­ing off of guys and into the net. It was one of those game where even if you play hard, you aren’t go­ing to win.”

The key is to keep up that kind of play both in games and in prac­tices, with a turn­around more than pos­si­ble with the steady im­prove­ment that would bring.

“If the boys keep work­ing as hard as they are, I can see that hap­pen­ing,” Hazell said. “We can’t give up, we just have to keep plug­ging away and mak­ing sure we do the right things at the right time and try and play a lit­tle more con­sis­tent and then it’ll come.”

Jake David­son turned aside 51 shots in tak­ing the loss, the Gen­er­als fired 29 at the Con­tacts.

The Gen­er­als are back in ac­tion Satur­day and Sun­day when they travel to Tis­dale to face the Tro­jans.
