Once upon a time, there was a small creature I knew, who lived under a log. His name, so they say, was Harry Hedgehog. He had two best friends, his very best mates, one was always on time, the other was late.

The punctual pal had a smile that was sunny, and a pretty name, too, she was called Bella Bunny.

Though the other was tardy, he had a mind that was fertile, and his name you ask? Why it’s Taffy Turtle!

One day Harry was given, by someone he knew, a big, shiny present—a bike built for two! Although Taffy was slow and Bella was quick, Harry loved them the same, don’t ask him to pick!

Harry worried and fretted and then worried some more, what should he do? Send it back to the store? Then Taffy came up with the perfect solution, he inched over to Harry’s house, with great resolution.

“Oh Harry,” he cried, “no reason to fret, your shiny new bike has a great big basket! Bella can sit right behind you and enjoy the ride, while I sit in the basket and act as a guide!”

Harry and Taffy and Bella cheered, “Yay!” So happy that everything turned out okay. They climbed up on the bike and rode it away, and the three happy critters are friends to this day.
