Robyn retired in 2015 after farming for 50 years on a third-generation farm started by his grandfather in 1894. He and his wife Reba still live in the farmhouse built by Robyn’s parents in 1950—the year he was born. He considers himself a jack of all trades—a requirement in the agricultural industry. Some of his skills were learned from his father, others were selftaught. He keeps active looking after their large farmyard and cabin retreat by the Valley River on adjoining property, where most of his wood and masonry craftsmanship can be seen. This issue’s Crafty Canadians on page 56 features Robyn’s impressive handiwork.
