3 oz. semisweet choco­late, chopped 1 cup packed brown sugar 3 tbsp un­sweet­ened ap­ple

sauce 1 egg 1 egg white 2 tbsp canola oil 41/ tsp light corn syrup 2 2 tsp vanilla ex­tract 1 cup all-pur­pose flour / cup bak­ing co­coa 14 / tsp bak­ing soda 12 / tsp salt 18 Prep Time: 15 min­utes Bake Time: 15 min­utes + cool­ing Yields: 11/ dozen 2 1. In a mi­crowave, melt choco­late and stir un­til smooth. Cool slightly. Mean­while, in a large bowl, beat the brown sugar, ap­ple­sauce, egg, egg white, oil, corn syrup and vanilla. Beat in choco­late un­til blended. Com­bine the flour, co­coa, bak­ing soda and salt, then beat into brown sugar mix­ture just un­til blended. 2. Pour into a 13-in. x 9-in. bak­ing pan coated with cook­ing spray. Bake at 350°F for 15-18 min­utes or un­til a tooth­pick in­serted near the cen­tre comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. Cut into bars.
