SPACEY’S SCENES TO BE REFILMED IN ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD

National Post (Latest Edition) - - POST MOVIES -

In a highly unusual move, director Ridley Scott decided Wednesday to remove Kevin Spacey, pictured, from a finished movie, All the Money in the World, and refilm scenes with a substitute actor. It will be a race against time: Scott promised Sony Pictures Entertainment that the altered film, which will now star Christopher Plummer in Spacey’s role as the reclusive oil ty- coon J. Paul Getty, will be ready in time for a scheduled release Dec. 22. Hollywood has been distancing itself from Spacey after allegations from more than a dozen men that Spacey sexually harassed, groped or assaulted them. The film dramatizes the refusal of Getty in the 1970s to pay a ransom for his grandson. It stars Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Williams.
