“Well, re­cently Sta­tis­tics Canada re­leased data show­ing Que­be­cers to be the least gen­er­ous in char­i­ta­ble giv­ing of any province in Canada,” I an­swered. “But no, I don’t think Que­bec bish­ops should stop preach­ing about the Chris­tian man­date to be gen­er­ous with the poor and suf­fer­ing. Que­be­cers ev­i­dently dis­agree, but the Church has to be faith­ful to what Christ taught.”
