Q
Now that he’s not buzzing around in space, what has astronaut Chris Hadfield been up to?
A
He has given permission for a new species of bee to be named after him. Cory Sheffield, the Royal Saskatchewan Museum’s curator of invertebrate zoology, came across a unique-looking female bee while cataloguing specimens and named the new species Andrena hadfieldi. “After I had finished my research … I thought of Colonel Hadfield, someone I have immense respect for,” Sheffield said.
