Tay­lor Swift is the first artist in Bill­board chart his­tory to land de­buts at the top of the sin­gles and al­bums count­down in the same week. The singer’s sur­prise re­lease Folk­lore hit the top of the Bill­board 200 on Sun­day and now the first sin­gle from the al­bum, Cardi­gan, has rock­eted to No. 1 on the Hot 100. Swift. shown, is also one of seven other artists who have had mul­ti­ple songs de­but at No. 1, and she’s the first to de­but three songs in the top six spots of the Hot 100 in a sin­gle week. She now has more Hot 100 en­tries than any other fe­male artist in his­tory, with 113. Mean­while her song The Man is on the short list for MTV video of the year — one of five nom­i­na­tions for Swift in to­tal. Online voter polls for the MTV nom­i­na­tions close on Aug. 23, with the win­ners to be named live on air on Aug. 30. Postmedia News
