‘sweetest’ student receives award
The Nipissing university student union (Nusu) and sugardaddy Cupcakes and Catering are collaborating on the sweetest student of the Week.
This initiative will see students, community members, Nipissing staff and faculty able to nominate students, not for academic reasons, but for being good student leaders or kind people.
John and Nathan serran from sugardaddy Cupcakes and Catering presented a certificate and four cupcakes to michaela adams, the first winner of sweetest student of the Week.
The cupcakes were North bay and school themed, along with the Nipissing colours of green and blue.
“We are really excited to be partnering with John and Nathan on this. It is great that a local business is willing to help recognize the good work that our students do. We congratulatemichaelaonthisaccolade,” said Tyrel somerville, Nusu’s vicepresident of communications.
adams was nominated by her friend, emily prevost.
“When I scrolled down on Facebook and saw the form I thought of michaela immediately. she had helped a few people and had only just met them and I wanted to nominate her for being awesome.” remarked prevost.
The initiative will continue throughout the year and any Nipissing university student can be nominated.
