Woman charged after allegedly letting horses roam on roads
NAPANEE, Ont. — Provincial police say a woman has been charged after allegedly allowing horses to run free on roads in Tyendinaga Township in eastern Ontario.
OPP say officers had responded to numerous calls regarding the roaming horses over the past several months. Investigators say they determined that the horses were able to leave the property due to inadequate fencing. They say officers, assisted by the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, executed a search warrant on the property in relation to animal welfare issues on Tuesday.
Police say a 70-year-old woman is charged with mischief.
