the third age Nipiss­ing life­long learn­ing group is of­fer­ing the lecture medic­i­nal ad­van­tages of cannabis… how can it help se­niors? on oct. 10 the third age Nipiss­ing life­long learn­ing group was started by a com­mit­tee of sev­eral in­ter­ested vol­un­teers in the fall of 2017. their plan is to de­velop and of­fer pro­grams that will al­low the par­tic­i­pants to lis­ten to, and to en­gage in dis­cus­sions with speak­ers who are well-in­formed on sub­jects of in­ter­est.

Re­search has shown that peo­ple who con­tinue to learn new things well into their re­tire­ment are health­ier and hap­pier than those who don’t. third age learn­ers re­ceive sig­nif­i­cant re­wards from be­ing in­volved - in­clud­ing in­creased so­cial in­ter­ac­tion, the pro­mo­tion of healthy brain func­tion­ing and in­tel­lec­tual stim­u­la­tion. the oct. 10 lecture will be fol­lowed by Recre­ational cannabis … what do we need to know? on oct. 17 and cannabis & the law ...what’s le­gal, and what’s not? on oct. 24. all three lec­tures will be held at hol­i­day inn ex­press & Suites (1325 Sey­mour St.) and will run from 1:30 to ap­prox­i­mately 3 pm. tick­ets ($15 per lecture, $30 for all three) are avail­able by ad­vance sale at hill­top Va­ri­ety on Jane Street West, Royal lepage North bay Real es­tate on chippewa St. West, and the North bay mu­seum. de­tailed in­for­ma­tion about all three lec­tures can be found on the web­site: https://thirda­genipiss­ing. com . con­tact: Susan priebe (705 476 5717) su­san­priebe@ya­hoo.ca
