Police pursuit leads to charges
A police foot pursuit Thursday resulted in a 24-year-old Sturgeon Falls woman being charged with trafficking and resisting arrest. West Nipissing police stopped the vehicle at 10 p.m. on Cache Bay Road in Sturgeon Falls. The woman was advised she was being arrested for possession of a controlled substance. “The female ran from the officer but was apprehended a short distance away. A search of the woman’s vehicle was conducted and police seized cocaine, hydromorphone pills, methamphetamine pills, packaging material and Canadian currency.” The seized are valued at approximately $15,500. Kasandra Lafond was charged.
