Mul­ti­cul­tural cen­tre cel­e­brates 10 years

the North Bay & Dis­trict Mul­ti­cul­tural Cen­tre will cel­e­brate its 10th birth­day on fri­day. an open house is sched­uled from 2-4 pm with speeches and cake cut­ting at 2:30 pm. Speak­ers in­clude MP an­thony Rota, MPP Vic fedeli and Mayor al Mcdon­ald. the mul­ti­cul­tural cen­tre pro­vides im­mi­grant set­tle­ment ser­vices for new­com­ers from Parry Sound to temiskam­ing Shores. Its satel­lite of­fice, the tim­mins & Dis­trict Mul­ti­cul­tural Cen­tre, serves the area from Kirk­land Lake to tim­mins and Cochrane. the cen­tre also houses the Lo­cal Im­mi­gra­tion Part­ner­ship (the North Bay New­comer Net­work), an ini­tia­tive ded­i­cated to cre­at­ing wel­com­ing com­mu­ni­ties.

“We are so proud to have had the op­por­tu­nity to serve this com­mu­nity for the past 10 years,” says ex­ec­u­tive direc­tor Deb­o­rah Robert­son. “I am look­ing for­ward to see­ing what the next 10 might bring.”
