North Bay Police Association ‘dismays’ reader

North Bay Nugget - - OPINION -

‘the police have a certain amount of power in a community, but telling us who to vote for is not one of them’ to the editor: i was very dismayed to read that the police association is going to take out an ad listing the candidates that it supports in the upcoming municipal election.

if, as an organization, you want to send a letter to your members recommending certain candidates, go ahead. but otherwise stay out of the election process.

if i am pulled over for not stopping at a stop sign, am i going to be asked who i plan to vote for. the police have a certain amount of power in a community, but telling us who to vote for is not one of them.

We all have the right to choose whom we want to vote for. if i needed your help in deciding i would have asked.
