deacon Property Management of North bay has purchased the Ontario Northland transportation commission’s former Ontera building on regina Street.

Mark and Steve deacon told the Nugget the building at 195 regina Street is a beautiful historic landmark.

“We will be looking at leasing out the space as professional offices. Something like lawyers, doctors, accountants,” said Steve deacon.

“Something that’ll have a nice professional look and feel for the area.”

the building, which sold in an online auction for $673,000 in april, went back up for sale because the parties were unable to reach an unconditional agreement for the purchase.

the building, which has been vacant since 2015, was originally built in 1908 for the temiskaming and Northern Ontario railway. It served as the former location of Ontera – Ontc’s communications arm, which was sold to bell aliant in 2015.
