Plans to be un­veiled for In­ter­na­tional Plow­ing Match

Event prom­ises to at­tract 80,000 peo­ple to Verner over five days

Or­ga­niz­ers of the 2019 In­ter­na­tional Plow­ing Match and ru­ral expo (IPM) in Verner are host­ing a com­mu­nity open house thurs­day.

billed as the largest agri­cul­tural event in North amer­ica, the IPM at­tracts ap­prox­i­mately 80,000 peo­ple over five days, rep­re­sent­ing an es­ti­mated $20 mil­lion in eco­nomic spinoffs for the host com­mu­nity.

West Nipiss­ing is host for the 102nd IPM, in Verner Sept. 17-21.

any­one in­ter­ested in get­ting in­volved is en­cour­aged to at­tend the open house, from 6-9 pm at the Stur­geon Falls recre­ation com­plex – Mar­cel Noel hall.

Fol­low­ing a brief pre­sen­ta­tion, par­tic­i­pants will be in­vited to visit var­i­ous kiosks where they can learn about the ac­tiv­i­ties planned for the 2019 IPM.

the 2019 IPM will be only the sec­ond time in the event’s his­tory to take place in North­ern On­tario. With more than 500 ex­hibitors and food ven­dors, var­i­ous ac­tiv­i­ties, en­ter­tain­ment and in­ter­ac­tive ed­u­ca­tional op­por­tu­ni­ties, it prom­ises an abun­dance of ac­tiv­i­ties for all ages to en­joy.
