The Rocky Horror Picture Show is currently being remade at our city’s famous castle, Casa Loma. The made-for-TV production of the 1975 cult classic will see a new star-studded cast, which includes Ben Vereen, who made a pit stop at Earl Haig Secondary School in between shoots to give students lessons on acting.

Leaside’s own Martha McCabe has earned herself a spot on the Canadian swim team after finishing second in the qualifying trials for the 200 metre backstroke. She is among the six Toronto qualifiers who will be attending the 2016 Olympics in Rio this summer.

On May 27, a celebration will be held at Massey Hall to honour the life and legacy of the late, great Forest Hill musician Jeff Healey. A starstudded line-up of Healey’s musical friends and peers will perform and all proceeds will go to World Eye Cancer Hope.

The estate of the late Forest Hill resident Joseph Rotman has donated $30 million to the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management. The gift marks Rotman as the school’s most generous benefactor.
