Three male suspects have been arrested for robbing a Leaside marijuana dispensary near Bayview Avenue and Millwood Road. On April 29, the suspects, 18, 19 and 23 years old, were charged by police for a violent raid on Eden Medicinal Society that occurred on April 25. On the day of the robbery, the suspects took physical control of the store. They were wearing disguises and were armed with a handgun, a stun gun and pepper spray. Pepper spray was sprayed into the faces of the employees and customers, and the suspects stole a quantity of marijuana and cash.
The Toronto Police Service is searching for a suspect accused of sexual assault on the Yonge subway line. On April 29, at 12 p.m., a 17year-old female victim was seated on a TTC subway train, heading northbound on the Yonge Street line. After passing Wellesley station, a male suspect sat beside her and a few moments later, between Bloor station and Eglinton station, he sexually assaulted her. The victim then left the subway train at Eglinton station, and the suspect began to follow her. When she walked toward a TTC employee, the suspect exited the station.
A homicide investigation is currently underway in the Dufferin Street and Eglinton Avenue West area. On April 21, at 9:30 p.m., police were called to the area for a sound of gunshots. Emergency crews arrived and found a male victim with apparent injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The 33-year-old victim, of Hamilton, was in his car waiting for a friend when he was shot by an unknown person. Several suspects were seen fleeing the area. Toronto Police Service has asked local residents to check their backyards for discarded items that do not belong to them.
