We started Hotel Gelato because we wanted to create a friendly, sophisticated neighbourhood spot where people could enjoy artisanal gelato, fresh baked goods and exceptional coffee. Our backgrounds in the luxury hotel industry, allowed us to create an upscale (yet relaxed) environment with exceptional customer service. We envisioned a place where kids (big and small) and those with dietary restrictions could come and enjoy a tasty treat. We always have something on our menu that is dairy-free, gluten-free, sugar-free or vegan for dessert. Shortly after we opened, customers asked if we offered a food menu…we really weren’t planning on introducing a food menu right away but as more people inquired, the more we considered our expansion to include a lunch menu. We launched a simple soup, salad and sandwich menu in the spring of 2010. Breakfast and weekend brunch followed shortly after. Our Baked Eggs and Lemon Ricotta Pancakes are perennial brunch favourites. An increasing demand for our gelato saw way for us to launch our portable gelato display, a unique option for corporate and social events.
