The Dunblaine School is a non-profit school pro­vid­ing highly skilled spe­cial ed­u­ca­tion teach­ers, a low stu­dent-to-teacher ra­tio and in­di­vid­u­al­ized ed­u­ca­tion plans for chil­dren with learn­ing dis­abil­i­ties (at­ten­tion deficit dis­or­der, and/or speech and lan­guage dif­fi­cul­ties), who have av­er­age or above av­er­age in­tel­li­gence. The re­search-based cur­ricu­lum is de­signed to mo­ti­vate and em­power chil­dren by help­ing them rec­og­nize their strengths and chal­lenges, and de­velop prob­lem-solv­ing strate­gies. Our small classes, and nur­tur­ing so­cial en­vi­ron­ment, en­able stu­dents to reach their full po­ten­tial. Our pro­gram fea­tures Di­rect In­struc­tion method­ol­ogy, in­di­vid­ual tu­to­ri­als, mu­sic, drama and vis­ual arts. Our pro­fes­sional staff also in­cludes an on­site oc­cu­pa­tional ther­a­pist, a speech/lan­guage pathol­o­gist and so­cial worker.
