Taxpayer group chooses board
KIRKLANDLAKE- The Kirkland Lake Taxpayer Association has formalized. In a recent meeting the group formed it’s first executive.
Stacy Wight will Chair the group with Mike Romain sitting as Vice Chair. Patrick Adams is the Social Media Director and Spokesperson while Kelly Wheeler is the association’s secretary. Shanea Smith, Bev Kidd and Samatha Langlois will sit as members of the board.
In a press release the organization says “the board will also hold public meetings in the future for tax payer input and direction. Going forward, acting as a non-partisan group, the board will focus on the town’s transparency, accountability, fiscal responsibility as well as share municipal updates and information.
The release went on to say “the members look forward to being a positive advocacy group, working with current representatives for the town of Kirkland Lake, as well as with our elected officials.
In the release Wight stated she is looking forward to working with the new board, noting; “We have exceptional individuals who have come forward to be a larger voice for tax payers when it comes to municipal affairs.

Board members will meet the first Thursday of each month at the Teck Centennial Library.
