Northeastern Ontario Medical Office honoured
Sudbury’s Northeastern Ontario Medical Offices has been named as a 2017 recipient of the Ontario College of Family Physicians Family Practice of the Year Award.
The award celebrates the accomplishments and hard work of the members of a family practice in Ontario delivering comprehensive services and continuity of care for their patients. Northeastern Ontario Medical Offices will be presented with their award during the 2017 Ontario College of Family Physicians Awards Ceremony on Nov. 23 in Toronto.
“Family medicine is at the heart of an effective health system, and it is the skill and dedication of family physicians and commitment to high-quality, compassionate, comprehensive and coordinated care that help keep Ontarians healthy,” Dr. Glenn Brown said in a release. “I congratulate Northeastern Ontario Medical Offices for exemplifying these values that are so integral to our profession,” said Brown, president of the Ontario College of Family Physicians.
The announcement came during Family Doctor Week in Canada, which ran last week, and is an opportunity to acknowledge the vital work family physicians do to help keep Ontarians healthy. A list of all OCFP awardees, including family practice co-recipient Sherbourne Health Centre from Toronto, is posted on the college’s website.
Based in Sudbury, the Northeastern Ontario Medical Offices provides services including family medicine, travel medicine, corporate health care, skin care, and allergy assessments. The team features six physicians, two physician assistants, three interdisciplinary health providers and four administrative staff, who serve more than 10,000 patients.
