Police seeking help on St. Barbe fire
Police in Flower’s Cove are asking for the public’s help in its investigation of a “suspicious” fire of a fishing shed in St. Barbe.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police received the report of the fire in the Northern Peninsula community just before 9:30 p.m. on June 16.
According to a news release issued last week, the fire was extinguished upon arrival at the scene.
There was just minimal dam- age to the shed near the town’s wharf, reported the RCMP, and nobody was injured.
Police are treating the fire as suspicious, and asking anybody with information or who may have seen suspicious activity in the area around the time of the fire to contact the Flower’s Cove RCMP at (709) 456-2500.
