12th an­nual Liz’s Walk com­ing to North­ern Penin­sula

Guy Poole con­tin­ues search for di­a­betes cure


Guy Poole is hit­ting the roads once again this Septem­ber to find a cure for di­a­betes.

Liz’s Walk will take place along the branch roads of the North­ern Penin­sula from Sept. 16 to 25.

Poole has been walk­ing across New­found­land and Labrador over the past 12 years in mem­ory of his late wife, Liz.

The de­ter­mined 74-yearold has man­aged to raise over $140,000, trav­el­ling some 2,800 kilo­me­tres in the process.

This year, Poole will be pass­ing through towns from St. An­thony to Plum Point, in­clud­ing Rod­dick­ton-Bide Arm, Main Brook, En­glee, Conche, St. Lu­naireGri­quet, Raleigh, St. Barbe, Bird Cove and many more on his trek to raise money and aware­ness for Di­a­betes Canada.

Lo­cals are en­cour­aged to come out and join him on his walk.
