CHRISTMAS MAGIC IS IN THE AIR
Cobourg will glow with more than 130,000 lights as Christmas Magic returns Nov. 24 from 6:30-9 p.m. Christmas music begins to play at 6:30 before Victoria Hall is lit up. The lighted walk begins at 6:45, heading down second street to Rotary Harbourfront Rink and the Esplanade, where Mayor Gil Brocanier will lead the countdown for the Christmas tree lighting. Visitors are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for the Fare Share Food Bank to receive a candle from the Cobourg Police Service. The walk includes kids's activities such as a visit with Santa and a children's tent on Second Street where children can join the Gingerbread House Festival by making cookies. The Christmas Market will be open Nov. 24-26, and the lights will be on until Jan. 7, nightly from 6-10 p.m.
