Lots of lines label themselves “unisex,” but Paige Cowan, Mel Sinclair and Meg Sinclair have created a collection of jackets, T-shirts and trousers that is genuinely genderneutral. Introducing Muttonhead (muttonheadcollective.com). Who is Muttonhead? Muttonhead is made up of three mutts. We each have our own roles and responsibilities, but Muttonhead is a mix of all of our skills combined with what we believe is missing in Canadian fashion: locally made, functional and quality garments for both men and women. What are Muttonhead fans wearing this season? For the fall 2011 collection we used a recycled hemp fabric for our trousers and dress shirts. It’s wearable, comfortable and durable. We also try to design accessories completely made from scraps, and this season we did a pouch wallet and are working on a five-panel hat. Any hints about your next collection? We love supporting and working with other local brands and artists and have some amazing collaborations in the works!
