BEER TENT

NOW Magazine - Fringe - - Fringe Preview -

Contrary to what a certain “B.I.T.T.E.R.” anonymous letter writer to NOW implied earlier this year, the theatre glitterati do not seal deals in cordoned-off VIP sections of the Fringe Club. Rather, the beer tent (as it’s more commonly known) is a casual, fun place to unwind, grab a drink and talk about… what else? Theatre. This is where you trade stories about what to see (or skip), what shows are selling out quickly and maybe, after some liquid courage, flirt with that theatre artist you’ve admired for years. The nightly programming doesn’t seem as extensive this year, but look for live concerts, awards presentations and even a free ice cream event on opening night.
