ARTISTS SHIFTING CREATIVE GEARS
The Fringe is always a great place for artists to try on different hats. This year, Second City alum Jenny Parsons presents her first painting exhibition, Awesome Paintings And Comic-books. It’s at the Visual Fringe (from July 4).
Marco Bernardi, a promising stand-up, joins the cast of SOULO (from July 6 at the Robert Gill), Tracey Erin Smith’s circus-like piece about queer-identified men sharing stories about cross-dressing.
And in (from July 5 at Theatre Passe Muraille
Fake News Fangirl Backspace), respected comedy blogger and critic per
Sharilyn Johnson forms her show about her obsession with The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. (Followers of Johnson’s Twitter account, @thirdbeat, know how obsessed she can be.)
Jenny Parsons turns artist with clever Tension In The Fanclub.
