Comedy that makes the cut

NOW Magazine - Fringe - - Fringe preview 25 things you can’t miss -

Some of North America’s funniest folks once again descend on the Fringe to deliver take-no-prisoners laughs.

While it’s disappointing that no one’s come up with a Rob Ford satire, the late addition of Fringe fave The Soaps (from July 5 at the George Ignatieff) should do the trick. The setting for the ongoing improvised comic soap opera is City Hall, so you can bet the comics will be “cracking” lots of mayor jokes.

Funny guys Peter Carlone and Chris Wilson expand on their Sketch Comedy Fest hit Peter N’ Chris Explore Their Bodies (from July 5 at the George Ignatieff), while the equally amusing Isaac Kessler and Ken Hall do the sequel thing with 2-Man No-Show 3 (from July 5 at the Helen Gardiner Phelan). Of the stand-up comics trying out new things, look for Dan Bingham to get laughs in Adopt This! (from July 4 at the Solo Room), chronicling his upbringing and meeting his biological family. And while the list of comic performers is pretty guy-heavy, as per usual, Laura Bailey and Jess Beaulieu should even things out with The Late Night Tonight Show LIVE In The Morning With CHICKA BOOM! (from July 4 at the Free Times Café), a special Fringe edition of their monthly all-female talk show with celeb guests, news parodies and weather reports. We expect it’ll be cloudy with a

chance of giggles.
