Monday, May 3 B1
(Felipe Braga, Eduardo Hunter Moura, Brazil). 98 minutes. Subtitled. Rating: In 2008, at age 37, blind Brazilian judo champion Antonio Tenório da Silva went to the Paralympics in Beijing in pursuit of his fourth gold medal. B1 (the title refers to his classification in the Games) has some compelling moments as a study of one athlete’s dedication and drive, but the filmmakers drop the metaphorical ball in the editing room, allowing repetitive competition montages to slow the narrative when it most needs to sprint.
