(Mitch Dickman, U. S.). 79 minutes. Rating: NNN Mitch Dickman started shooting the day marijuana became legal in Colorado. Not surprisingly, the first flick to look at the ramifications of legalizing pot in America tends to take on too much too superficially.
What starts as a portrait of Ricardo Baca, editor of the Denver Post’s The Cannabist, drifts into a discussion of whether child protection services might take away pot reviewers’ kids, and difficulties in monitoring weed consistency to Uruguay (!?) and beyond.
Fun names for pot brands, though: Shatter, Death Panda. What a rush! Apr 24, 7 pm, Hart House; Apr 26, 1: 45 pm, ROM; May 2, 6: 30 pm, Bloor Hot Docs
