THE F WORD

NOW Magazine - TIFF - - FILM FESTIVAL PREVIEW -

For my money, Michael Dowse is one of the best comic filmmakers working, and certainly the best in Canada. Films like Fubar and Goon have real heart besides all their dick and fart jokes, and that tenderness seems ready to bubble to the fore here. Daniel Radcliffe plays a hopeless romantic who falls in love with an already attached friend ( Zoe Kazan). But unlike crap like (500) Days Of Summer, The F Word is supposed to chart the actual flow of one- directional affections, where the guy’s yearning is left totally unreciprocated. Sounds like a necessary intervention in the whole underdog rom-com canon. September 7, 9 pm, Ryerson; September 8, 11:30 am, Bloor
