Wednesday (September 5) at the AGO
Calgary-based artist, musician and writer Vivek Shraya presents her new book, I’m Afraid Of Men, at a special event at the Art Gallery of Ontario. In her fifth book – and first non-fiction – she documents her experiences with boys and men, first as a queer male teen and later as a transgender woman. Her struggles are compounded by the fact that she’s a person of colour. It’s required reading for all straight white men. See full review at nowtoronto.com/culture. Joining Shraya in conversation is R&B singer Jully Black. Art Gallery of Ontario (317 Dundas West). 7-8:30 pm. Free (ticket required). RSVP via ago.ca.
