New Chief of Po­lice an­nounced

The Ot­tawa Po­lice Ser­vices Board an­nounced March 2 the ap­point­ment of Deputy Chief Charles Borde­leau as the next Chief of Po­lice for the City of Ot­tawa. The new Chief has 28 years of polic­ing ex­pe­ri­ence. Borde­leau has deep roots in the com­mu­nity, hav­ing spent his en­tire life in Ot­tawa. He has served on the boards of nu­mer­ous com­mu­nity or­ga­ni­za­tions as well as co-chair­ing the Com­mu­nity Po­lice Ac­tion Com­mit­tee, which has pro­vided him with an ex­cel­lent un­der­stand­ing and rap­port with Ot­tawa’s di­verse com­mu­ni­ties. This ap­point­ment is the cul­mi­na­tion of an in­ter­nal search con­ducted by the Po­lice Ser­vices Board that be­gan in Jan­uary.
