Six-unit row hous­ing ablaze

At 8:17 p.m. on May 20, Ot­tawa Fire Ser­vices re­ceived a call for smoke com­ing from the garage of 968 Gos­nell Ter­race. Upon ar­rival, crews found a six-unit row hous­ing com­plex with one garage fully in­volved. The ve­hi­cle in­side the garage of 968 Gos­nell had caught fire. Crews had the fire knocked down and un­der con­trol by 8:40 p.m. The fire was con­tained to the garage but crews had to force en­try into the af­fected unit as well as the unit next door. The dam­age was caused by smoke in the unit at 968 Gos­nell as well as 970 Gos­nell. They had a com­bined amount of dam­age of ap­prox­i­mately $100,000 to con­tents and $10,000 to the build­ing. Po­lice were also on scene and were tasked with se­cur­ing the units.
