percentage you have, the higher the chance you have of (cancer) reoccurring a second time," said Daly about why she decided to join the contest that was put on by Adrian Delorey, of 180 Fitness, and nutritionist Kathy Smart. "After all those treatments of chemotherapy and everything else, you definitely don’t want to go through that again. I told myself I had to do everything in my power to get healthy."
The mother of two lost a total of 13.5 per cent body weight, 31.8 pounds and 24 inches off her stomach and hips alone.
After meeting Smart at a workshop, Daly heard about the contest that was inspired by the hit reality show The Biggest Loser and was one of 12 chosen out of hundreds of applications.
"At that point it was tough, but we took the responses we got from everybody and selected the people who we thought would contribute to the most positive environment," said Delorey.
The goal, said Smart, was to create a friendly version, to encourage people to adopt a healthier lifestyle.
