A day to remember missing children
May 25 has been declared missing children’s day, a day to internationally recognize and remember missing children all across North America. The Ottawa Police Missing Persons Section works in partnership with several agencies, including the Canadian Centre for Child Protection and their program, MissingKids.ca. MissingKids provides services to help locate missing children and to support families providing education and resources. On May 24, the Canadian Centre for Child Protection launched a new service to assist in the location of missing children, a website, www.missingkidsalert. ca, that will alert participating citizens when their help is needed in a missing child case. OttawaOrléans MP Royal Galipeau marked the National Day by attending an assembly at Good Shepherd School.
